Hi folks.
So, thanks to Porshe-Apart, i now have two good condition front wings to replace the current rusty ones.
I am looking for information regarding the removal of the wings eg: difficulty involved, are they bolt on only, anything in particular to watch out for and even if anyone knows where i can get hold of a wing fitting diagram.

If anyone lives near the Livingston area of Scotland that has some experience of this kind of job, don`t be shy

Any advice will be most welcome.

Thanks.

Martin

They are bolt on only, but watch out for the bolts at the back of the wing by the door jam. They are covered in thick underseal inside the wheel arch and are difficult to spot until it's all cleaned away

If there the same as the earlier cars there is 'sealer' on all the joints which is very strong so even with all the bolts out they will not drop off, a lot of leverage is needed

hi

use a heatgun to warm up the sealer under the wing and get one of those cheap snap off blade knife and have it all the way out and slide it between the wing and the inner wing, it takes a long time to get them off but it is worth doing slowley.

then when you put the new wings back on clean the sealer away from were the wing and car meet or they do not line up flat

hope this helps ryan 8)

You should replace the sealant before replacing the wing, body shop supplies places will normally sell you some.
