January 2011 - I crashed the car on black ice  - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=10183 Fortunately just spun 360 into hedges on a country lane, bounced out and spun 180 back into the hedges. The back end was OK, but the front.......

You can see the damage in the pictures, but basically it distorted and took paint off the front bumper / broke the indicator lens / dented the off-side front wing - which was / is badly rusted at the bottom anyway, punctured the windscreen washer bottle / bent the oil cooler / smashed a fog-driving light / bent the track rod end / broke and twisted arch liners both sides / generally scuffed and scratched the paintwork.

Immediately had the track rod end replaced, replaced the off-side wheel arch liner, changed the indicator and driving-fog light, and continued to use the car.... and have done to date with it looking battered and bruised. Then again, if you watch Californication it's a bit cool to have a battered looking Porsche - although his is a 911 convertible.

July 2011 - bought a replacement off-side wing (£100 for the excellent wing off Aerial Andy's crashed car :( ) and a random bumper (£100) and put them in the garage - where they just collected dust, while the replacement oil cooler (free from a kind TIPEC member) sits in a draw in the garage.

Yesterday - I really cannot explain why, but for some reason I put the wing and bumper into the back of the Audi, took the off-side headlight cover off for paint matching, and took them to a paint shop where they are now  .

They'll be ready in a week, maybe two, but do you think I'm making a bit of a rush job if I put them back them on too soon........ maybe leave them in the garage for another ten months to let the paint mature  .

Only joking, weather permitting it will be done as soon as they come back. I'll do before / during / after pictures and put them up.

Any tips on removing the wing and bumper greatly appreciated :) .

Thank you.

Sounding good!

Tip - there is a very well hidden screw holding the wing on, even when you think they are all out!
