I need a new front wing for my early 944. A guy has one locally, but doesn't know if it's early or series 2. Is there an easy way to tell visually ?

Where the front of the wing joins the top of the bumper is the difference.... and the price! Used S2 / Turbo ones are rare and very expensive.

Take a look at a close-up photo of both types.

There is a marked difference. The S2 wing is completely different. If you want I will try and send you a picture later as they are on another pc. My husband had to cut, weld and re-shape the 944 wing as he changed the front of my car to a S2.

An early wing and a series 2 wing are both the same,however the "S2" or turbo have a more subtle curve on the front corner where it meets the wing curves to point more towards the side repeater)where as the lux/s wing has a curve (drops and points down to the floor).

I would clarify if he means an S2Turbo wing or series 2 944 as the series 2 car is any lux/S model with an oval dash upto 1989

Went to see the wing. It was an early one in superb condition, so I bought it !
