My 1985 (Square dash Lux) 944 needs a new throttle cable. (Saga detailed elsewhere!)
I ordered the correct one for my car from my OPC but when it came, I noticed it was different. The one on my car is adjusted at the throttle end where as the new one was adjusted at the bulkhead. They assured me that the bulkhead adjust is the correct one and that I should try it and come back to them if it doesnt fit.
Well, it doesn't fit!!
The bracket at the throttle end is completely different and won't take the other cable, so I'm going to have to replace like with like. Question is, if my car has the "wrong" cable, what age car is it from? Does anyone know when Porsche started using the cables with throttle body screw adjust?I can only think that someone in the car's life has converted it to use a later cable (Not sure why) but I need to help my OPC out as they don't know much about the 944 to be honest....
