Fast response throttle cam-any good?

Post subject:  Fast response throttle cam-any good?
Guys
Does anyone have any experience of the Porscheshop "Fast response throttle cam" for the early 2.5 944 ? I just missed a S/H one on eBay and being as I need to change my cable, I was wondering if it was worth fitting one of these at the same time?

Good tuning mod for not a lot of dosh. Feels weird driving a car without afterwards!

Yes Jim, thoroughly agree.

My 2.5 came with one, but the 2.7 didn't so I had a play.....

I fitted one to mine last month and it does make a difference, you can get on the throttle quicker, comments like 'just put your foot down quicker' are nonsense. Cheep, effective and easy to fit.

The original part pulls from a point a long way from the spindle to start with, whereas the round version pulls from a lot closer, so the same amount of cable movement actually moves the spindle further with the round cam. This is just has the effect of sharpening the throttle response.

I'm not yet convinced my modified cam opens the throttle fully - one of the many jobs is to check!
