Hi All

I seem to have an issue with the 944s2 at present and I can’t seem to identify what it could be. Basically when driving at around 70mph I start to get a drumming/buffeting noise from what I believe is the wheels. It sounds like a buffeting noise when you have a window down at high speed.

The car doesn’t seem to pull to any one direction and I have checked tyre pressure to make sure it isn’t an uneven balance. Ball joints were replaced a few thousand miles ago but can’t rule this out yet.

The noise does seem to stop after a while and I have tried the obvious test of "is it the road surface" by driving up and down the same strip with mixed results.

The wheels don’t seem to have excess play in them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Chris

wheel weight thats come off, or a bent alloy? - possibly rear if you have no vibration through the steering wheel.

Check that the undertray is secure.

I had this once on another car, turned out to be the shocks. Does the car bounce if you lean on any of the corners?

I'd check the dampers too.
