Hi, Can anyone tell me what a DME relay does and where it is located. I have been led to believe that it is one of the most common causes of a 944 not starting and that I should carry a spare in the car. Also where should I get one from and what sort of price are they. I'm trying to find out if my car is fitted with a cat.It is a 1989 S2, the filler throat is not restricted and does not have the little metal flap across it that you normally see for unleaded fillers if that is of any help. Is there any way of finding out without getting under the car. Thanks |

DME relay is located in the fusebox under the bonnet (scuttle panel area NS) yes very common thing to fail, usually with heat iirc good idea to carry a spare, cost £20-25 can be bought here - http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/p ... a13_212496 you can get them cheaper, non genuine but the ones above are genuine As for the catalytic converter, 89, im pretty sure its got one fitted, might be on the options sticker if its not always fitted "157" i think 0xygen sensor and catalyst but if its standard fit then it wont be on there i know my J plate S2 did have one |
