I can't believe how wide the 934 and 935 are!

Several drool worthy models there. I think the 935 though would be my money no object purchase.

Well... I have this big weakness for CanAms so the 917/30 sparks some interest, even though it did kill off the series... There is some seriously optimistic estimating going on with some of the prices, though.

Starting was a COMPLETE no-no......... unfortunately :(

Was amazed how (relevantly) light the steering was.

Big money currently being spent on the best of the best collector cars presently. Their year on year appreciation beats your money in the bank for investors. Hence the optimism.

I'll look forward to the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the prices plummet after the bubble bursts; just like they did the last time classic cars were touted as a "good investment during tough economic times".

I am normally front of the queue when 917s are mentioned on here, everyone knows my enthusiasim!!
This isn't actually a great 917/30 though, virtally no race history, unknown Aussie owner, then Porsche. I think the price is way over the top. Especially bearing in mind Willi Kausens car was up for around £1.5Million, this car has a shed load of history.
And just for something to perve over as automotive porn is a couple of pics of this very car.
