My '87 Oval dash Lux has a broken switch knob and it keeps falling out, leaving an annoying little light glowing away. Does anyone have a replacement?

It's the air recirculating switch, commonly mistaken as the air conditioning switch. I don't need the switch, just the cover that goes over it.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks....

I recently replaced mine as it was worn and the black plastic had flaked off, looked all over for just the switch but ended up buying a complete heater control unit in the end.

Is it worth placing a call to Porsche OPC? Just to see if there is a random box somewhere with it still in stock?

I need one too...

damn annoying that glowing light. I think mine is somewhere under the seats but it keeps falling out again eventually..

Are the top and bottom switches identical apart from decal ? if so I'd settle for buying the other cover if you manage to get a whole heater control assembly .

Araldite. Or even the cheap stuff from the pound shop...
You bought a whole new unit because the knob fell off? Jeez, it's a different world in here..
Do you change cars when the ashtrays fill up?

I think you should at least look at a late 944. heater switch assembly before sounding off. I think it may look like the image.

The covers to the switches have a unique box shape with tiny locating bits which clicks into place on the push-to-make and push-to-break switches .
ie it may not be like simple 924 switch

Yeah, welcome to the world of old cars. You can only buy what people are selling, and I can't find one for sale.

I can't just glue it in because it needs to slide in its mount. I need to sit in a scrap car for a few minutes to liberate one!
