I need to buy new brake pads, so I need to determine which brakes my car has fitted.

The callipers are glossy black, with white Porsche script. They’re either M030 spec which have been refurbished and painted/coated black … or the car has the Promax Big Black brake kit fitted.

Does anyone have any idea how I might tell the difference, either visually or by measurement?

Take a look on the EBC website they give pad sizes and pics.

Sorted. My callipers are the M030 set that were fitted when the car left the factory. They’ve just been refurbed in black for cosmetic reasons.

Cheers for the help, and to Andy at Promax for talking me through the differences.

There’s a stack of little differences, but one dead simple point was to check whether you have back plates behind your brake discs. The Big Black callipers are so large that they require removal of the back plates, y’see.

For me, that meant that I definitely had M030s that had just been painted black.

For anyone needing to check whether they have M030 or regular brakes, with M030 your front callipers are bigger than your rear, whereas on a standard (older) car they are the same size.
