All

A few weeks back I noticed a noise coming from the power steering. It only seems to happen after the engine is hot and the car is stationary when attempting to turn the wheels (i.e reversing into a garage). There is no noise when cold or when driving along (hot and cold).

I can only explain the noise to be a whine when turing the wheels. Anyone got any ideas? Could it be lack of Power Steering fliud in the chamber (not sure what level this should be ?? )

Any advise would be great.

Mine was like this when I got it. The power steering fluid was low. Topped it up and no more noise.
To top up, unscrew the top and the top and bottom marks on the dipstick fixed to the bottom of the lid will be obvious.

Replacing the fluid may also help, Its when the pump is working hard with warm ie thin fluid
