Hello All

I am suffering with squealing front brakes ay low speeds - 10 mph or so and lower

The pads and discs have plenty of thickness left in them but I do have a very small amount of run out on one front disc.

I've tried anti vibration shims but they don't seem to help.

I think the pads are Porsche parts.

Any suggestions ? Its' driving me mad !

thanks

Which car - single or twin piston calipers?
The single piston sliding caliper ones usually have the anti vibration spring under the slider pins and a composition/rubber pad on the back of each pad, this is often missing and is the cause.
Not played with the opposed piston ones, but would guess they are similar.

Maybe pop them out & rub them over some sandpaper to remove any roughness? They should have the sticky pads on the back that locate them in the caliper pistons.

I've got some pagid pads in mine & they squeal embarrassingly at low speed, genuine pads rarely make a noise.

I've got M030 calipers on mine, refurbed recently, and have messed about for ages trying to eradicate low speed squealing, mostly unsuccessfully!

I have pagid discs and pads and now have OEM shims installed. I still get occassional low speed squealing. This has been the most effective solution of all the pad and shim combos I've tried.

Interestingly when I reverse out my drive in the morning (downhill) I sometimes get horrible squealing which stops as soon as I go forwards? :? Other mornings nothing, this seems temparature related, but still random.

On the moving forwards front I get no noise when discs and pads are cold. Once there's a bit of heat in them I get occassional low speed noises but much less than before the OEM shims were fitted.

Are pagid not OEM bertelli? I thought they may have been.
