Anybody out there got a couple of decent second hand ones?OPC want £42 each. Same at Porsche-apart and Porscheshop.Cant see how they can justify that for a little bit of rubber! Apparently there are two distinct types-pre 86 and 86-on and I need the earlier ones for my car. :)

That is a lot lot more than I paid last year, I think the seals were around £8-£9 each from an OPC. I've just checked the latch rubbers, plates with bolts & boot lock rubber were £40ish.

I've just upgraded mine to the 968 ones...much better fit and £12 each from OPC :D

Did you have to cut or trim them to make them fit? :)

Well there's a story about that :?

I fitted the first one but put the fixing plate on the top not under the seal, I am sure it will fit without cutting, I have ordered the new seals and top seals pins everything which I will fit after the re-spray..

tip given to me by my local indy....to put grease under the seal to help fitting and improve the seal

The 968 ones look the same as the ones I bought for my S2 last year I think I paid around £10 each for them and they fit easily if you lube them with some fairy liquid or similar.

I think I paid about £46 last year for two hatch pins and surrounds from my OPC delivered to my door so happy with that.

Both the 944 and 968 are the same price, £14.14 from OPC

yes but a 968 fittment!, the 944 version does not have the lugs at the back it has a groove, and the hole is open at the front with 2 lugs......
well that's what I got the OPC I ordered the 944 version first then the 968 one

What a job that was! :x I couldnt believe that thing would go in the hole(as the actress said to the bishop) but after a lot of persuasion I managed it.The metal plate with the bolts attached had disintegrated so I used a couple of washers and had to put one new bolt in from my tin of "things that will come in handy some day" :) .I also put the new tailgate seal on although some of the headlining along the roof needs pushing in but Ive had enough for one day! :stop:

Yep they are a real pain :?
