Well done Adam, you beat me hands down and you had the satisfaction of the mechanics and the owner Andy (who races 944's) all nodding and smiling in appreciation. Still, I'm happy my 2.5 8v with 119k miles on the clock still has 140bhp(flywheel) and appears healthy enough so at least I don't need spend any money in this direction. On the other hand I can see the hunt for more power becoming addictive.... All the best, Andy. |

J.J. wrote: Is that at the Wheels or flywheel ![]() Interesting to see a 2.7 ![]() It's estimated flywheel/crank. Max torque ~171ftlbs @4200rpm. Makes 170ftlbs as soon as 2800rpm! so a nice wide curve as you'd expect. The only thing is there are some minor peaks and troughs across the top of the curve, but only a few digits. I'll get it scanned in at work next week and post it up (cos I'm a saddo ![]() Adam |

The mechanic told me the fueling was spot on all the way apart from the very top end which was running a bit rich. The loss of 20odd bhp I presume is down to mileage and general wear and tear. Was good to meet you and your girlfriend too, hopefully our paths will cross again at a future event. All the best, Andy. |

It was great to see you and your cars down at SPC. I really enjoyed the morning and I think everyone went away with a smile on their face. Thanks to Keith for organising it and Andy and his Ma and Pa for looking after us so well. It was the first time mine has been on the dyno and I was very pleased with the results (279.1), some good information for the history should I ever come to sell her. I must do something about the exhaust, all the other 911s sounded amazing, mine was on some sort of stealth mode! Of course what I really want is that V8....music to the ears! See you guys soon. Until a few subtle upgrades ![]() Your car looks great on the dyno. Li Moo Bai. Thought it might have done a bit more. 2.7s have bigger inlet valves & ports. Wonder if the cam is different or if it's just down to the chip? Theres more in there for sure ![]() Be interested to see the graphs for the sake of comparison. ![]() |

That is book figures as far as I know. Torque on mine was up about 20fltlbs over the factory figure for a 2.5lux. I also think the 2.7 engine note is slightly sweeter now I've had the opportunity to hear another couple of 2.5s up close and personal ![]() Thanks for the compliments on the car. You know first hand I'm sure that certain lights don't do the guards red justice. In plain daylight she looks the mutts nuts ![]() We had her up on a ramp briefly after everyone had left in order to discuss whether there was any parts I could find a home for (Andy at SPC used to break and race 944s ![]() ![]() I will definitely use them again as they are a nice friendly family business who clearly know their way 'round these cars and also offer TIPEC discounts too ![]() Pics of the dyno graph to follow next week.. All the George, Adam |

Mine is going on chip wizards dyno for a remap soon at Rochdale. Tourque figures checked out fine at Rick woods. Not putting them back on piston heads though. Too many idiots. The cylinder head on the 8v pegs hp at a maximum of around 140. (Restricted flow.) After that you just get torque. Thats what makes mine feel so fast. It's not got the HP of an S2 but it does have the torque. A different dyno will prove or disprove this once & for all. ![]() Smoothness is down to the pressure reg & damper. Mine is completely different after changing these. (Though they were both working & given a clean bill of health by JAZ.) |
