Myy 944 just dropped it's coolant onto a friend's driveway. Couldn't see where it was coming from. Topped up and drove to local Porsche specialist. When I got there it was below minimum again. He topped it up and ran it but couldn't find an obvious problem. Said I should keep it topped up and keep an eye on it till we can get it pressure tested and all sorts.
I am very frightened of a big bill! All the rad looks fine and hoses etc. When I looked underneath the drivers side it was difficult to see where else it could be coming from cos it was all over the plastic undertray, but the nearest component with a belt round it looked wet. I am assuming this is the water pump. Is this looking like a big problem? Any advice or reasurance at this point?!
Also, you may have seen my previuos posts about the central dashboard warning light being on but with no other lights for a clue. Does this mean I've found the answer, or would a coolant level issue not bother the central warning lamp?
