I have a 944 S2 which has been fitted with 17" 205 and 255 wheels. The space saver rear wheels is however currently the original 16" collapsible 20 year old space saver. I take it that this will not work with the larger wheels...i see many 944,s with larger wheels fitted now, what do you all do with regards to spare wheels etc.

The outside diameter off the wheels should remain the same, and there for not propose much off a problem using the space saver in a jam. However were or not 20 year old rubber is safe is another issue all together.

I went with runflats all round a bit heavier, but no chance off a blow out and can be used 2 get home. Iv actually drove around on one 4 3 days without relising due 2 a leaky valve after fittment.

That's why the tyre manufacturers always recomend tyre pressure sensors when using run flats. I believe you only notice when you start giving it a bit in the twisty bits and that's a bad time to find out you have a flat tyre.

If you don't have tyre pressure monitoring systems on your car, run flats can be really dangerous. I know this from personal experience!

With Boxster alloys they are run flat anyway. With only 2 psi in one front the car drove fine & the sidewall was stiff enough to keep shape! Who needs a spare with these tyres. Joke is it went for MOT like that & passed! :)

Pretty sure it is illegal to fit run flat tyres to a vehicle that has no tyre pressure monitor
