Hi There,

Mine is built into the windscreen, you should be able to see a line down the centre.

Many thanks, didn't realise that what the centre strip was. So, is poor reception just old age or is there much that can be done?
Not a big problem in the scheme of things, just slightly irritating.

Thanks v much. Jon

Should plug into a black box at the base of the screen (amplifier), if the screen has been replaced recently it may not have been plugged back in

on mine theres a thin black wire taped to the coax aerial cable that i needed to hook up to a blue wire from the head unit (sony) to power the aerial amplifier. its still not fantastic but better than it was without.

Thanks for the hints guys. For some reason, after a fiddle, things have improved, however, reception is noticeably worse with the engine running. Any further clues please?

From my car radio install days a LOOOOONNNGGG while ago:-

Check the plug, leads & dizzy condition.
Check the radio is properly earthed, run a separate lead if necessary.
Check the aerial lead is OK, especially around the plug that goes in the radio.
Try swapping the amplifier & headunit out one could be knackered.

The common thing on 944s is that people leave the black wire in with the aerial disconnected, which means no power to the aerial amp.
