I'm once again looking for a roof bar system for the 944 so I can carry my bikes around with ease. Porsche did do one, It was called a roof transport system, part number was 944 801 005 00, but they're very rare. I've got all the Thule bike carriers, it's just the roof bars I need.

Rocking horse droppings now seem relatively easy to find....

Has anybody got one, heard of one, seen one for sale, wants to sell one?

Thanks.

We can discuss the price privately, but how much do you think delivery would be?

I reckon we could get them delivered for free by passing them between TIPEC members who live within say 10 miles or so of each other, and the bars could slowly work their way northwards. Everybody would have an excuse to go for a blast, and if we got short of volunteers (which is unlikely) then I could drive down somewhere not too far to collect them, or if they get to Coventry my wife can collect them when she visits her mother.

Worth a try to get them all the way to my doorstep Jim..... if we could get the volunteers. You know where people live more than I do - so a bit of planning if you want a puzzle to do. Then you could write it up for the All Torque mag.

I have seen an E reg red 944 every day this week going to Altrincham from Lymm in the morning and back in the evening. A rather attractive blond driving it........ she could do the last leg  even though Lymm is past the target.

I think the ship to me was about 20 pound. I'm at the NEC for the Committee meeting so that would get them a long way up country. Otherwise not worth mucking about with to be honest.

I took this as an implication that it would be expensive. £20 is quite reasonable.

I think that is what they cost John. I'll dump them on the scales at some point & find out. I bought them quite some time ago so could be dreaming of £20!

I have these, but with the additional roof rack piece. £31 from ebay! :P
Be careful though it is very easy to dent the roof if you over tighten them...

Hi,

Can anyone post some pictures of these fitted to the roof? I'm curious to see how and where they fit. The other picture doesn't do the roof bars justice.

Finding pictures of them is as hard as finding the actual bars!

Hi,

I'd love the ski rack to fit my snowboard onto. But I guess there's even less chance of finding one of them!

I have a set of roof bars for sale with the ski/snowboard rack. I have a spare front bar also. I have used these for topbox and two bikes, yes I did get lots of funny looks! If any interest please get in touch.
