It should fit there is at least one guy running a 924 with 968 running gear as a track day weapon.

Looked into this myself, before my current project popped up.
The 924s is a straight swap as the engine mounts and cross member are the same.
The 924 is different and would require some fabrication for engine mounts.

There was a feature in one of the Porsche monthlies a couple of years ago (or so) about a chap who had done this to a 924S, a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing. Question is has anyone put a 944 turbo engine and drivetrain in a 924S !!!!

Presume the transmission is different as well between 924s and 944 S2?

I've done it, pretty straightforward (if time consuming..) really. The tricky parts are oil cooler fitting, intake pipework. The electrics are reasonably easy, you just need to splice into the 924 engine wiring, plus the ecu will end up on the opposite side which makes it tricky to make it neat and tidy. PM Tam Lin over on pcgb, he owns the car I did the swap on. If you want to change the gearbox you will have to fit the 944 fuel tank & remove the 924 rear crossmember too.

Think Jon Mitchel has done one. Was discussing options on mine a year or tow ago. Decided to stay N/a in the end.
