Post subject:  indicators not working

I'm in the middle of upgrading my interior lighting on my '91 944t but for some reason the indicators have stopped working!?

Recently I finished replacing 3 bulbs in the instrument cluster with LED bulbs. (Using the popular silver foil technique.) Following that, I removed the rest of the dashboard trim and 3 further bulbs. (1 used for the cigarette lighter, 1 from behind the middle of the air vent, and I can't remember where the third one was. Would have to go back in the car and check in case its going to help.)

Took the car out this evening and realised the left and right indicators aren't working. Other than the trim, I've reconnected the old bulbs and they are fine but the indicators don't work. Then main headlights and parking lights etc do work as they should.

Any idea's what wrong or what I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Do the hazards still work? Not that this will help, I'm just curious? Because if they do, then it is the stalk. I had to replace mine on the 944, got one from Sulzeruk on here.

I would say that great minds think alike, but someone will be along in a minute to say that fools seldom differ.

hazard lights not working either.

Just realised - The only thing I haven't put back is the clock. (Not sure if that matters.)

Not totally sure but I did read some wear that removing the clock and cig lighter can easily blow a fuse. But you prob check all them

Came across this link - http://www.wiringdiagrams21.com/wp-cont ... se-box.png

Not sure which fuse would need to be replaced for the bulbs. Anyone here know?

Also, pardon my ignorance but how can one tell if a fuse is blown? (not ha to change one before so don't know.)

Checking a fuse is relatively easy you can see the join between the two contacts through the plastic case and if this is broken then the fuse has gone, or you can check with a volt meter set to resistance, it is sometimes more difficult knowing which fuse to check.

That's easy enough. Anyone got any ideas about which fuse I need to check?

Under the fuse box lid, should be a diagram, the fuses are numbered, so u can check each fuse based on the indactours. Also there's a tester amount the relays, plug the fuse in and the light will glow if it's ok. Some time u can visually see a bad fuse. If the tester not there just replace the fuse 2 be sure.
