Hi, does anyone know if the big red calipers & drilled brake discs from a MK1 GT3 will fit straight onto a 944 S2? (Straight swop.) If not, what other modifications will be needed to fit them? I have 18" wheels fitted, so I don't think clearance will be an issue. |

I'm not certain, but I think that you may need adapters to give the required clearance between the calliper and disc as the discs are larger and the callipers need to be further out. I'll have a quick look over on the 968 forum and see what I can find out as quite a few of the guys over there have done this I think. |

I looked into fitting Big Reds on my Turbo SE but decided to stick with the Big Blacks for now. With the M030 suspension I was told the Big Red calipers just bolted on to the existing hubs. The disks could be the tricky bit. Again I was told I could use the existing disks (928 GTS) or get aftermarket cross drilled ones and have nothing more to do. I'm not sure about GT3 disks but if I wanted to use the 993TT disks I had to get a different "Top Hat" to sort the offset out. I'm guessing the GT3 disks would need the "Top Hats" for the offset and a spacer to deal with the larger diameter. I spoke to Lindsey Racing, it maybe worth dropping them an email. I know they sell the bits needed for a turbo and might be able to tell you what you need for an S2. |

Just had a look on Porsche 968uk and there is an excellent piece on upgrading brakes. It doesn't mention GT3 discs though, but does have a choice of cross drilled and 2 piece discs. http://www.porsche968uk.co.uk/technical ... brakes.htm I'm glad I've read it. I won't bother upgrading my Big Blacks now I'll just get some cross drilled discs. |

I've found this; http://www.porsche968uk.co.uk/phpbb/vie ... =32&t=3727 Looks like spacers will be required to mount the callipers as the hole spacing is wrong for the S2 hub. |

Definately not, you will need a spacer with holes at 90 degrees to eachother because the GT3 callipers are mounted radially and the S2 are mounted axially. I haven't seen any commercially available adaptors but a group of Swedes on Rennlist had some made It is the same if you fit Big red callipers from a 993TT but Lindsey do an off the shelf kit for this It's easier if you have the hubs from a 250Turbo as the 993 Big Reds do bolt straight on |

try FVD.de for spacers \ adaptors, its where my 964 kit came from, they import to the uk thru Powermarques... |
