Post subject:  Hi and help!

Hi guys, long time since I posted; I have been Porscheless for some time!

I have bought a 944 again like I promised myself I would ever since selling the last one. It's a particularly nice 88 LUX in Guards Red which I am absolutely loving!

Like all cars though it has a couple of issues that need sorting, I wondered if any of you could help...

Firstly the heater always seems to be either red hot or off! when I turn the dial the tiniest amount it has a delayed yet extreme effect...

Secondly, it's currently a two person job to open the boot. When I got it, the boot would open with the key, but now turning the key in the bootlock doesn't seem to get the motor whirring. At the same time, if I push the boot switch in the footwell, the motor whirrs and sounds like it's doing the right thing but the boot remains shut tight when you go round to open it. If however a second person pulls the hatch lid while I activate the switch it opens as normal...

Any ideas would be hugely appreciated. Aside form these two things it's fab and I'd love to get them sorted!

Thanks in advance, Jon

Hi

I had exactly the same problem with my tailgate, there is a micro switch on the latch which is faulty I got a new one from porsche for about £15

The part number is P944.624.030.00

Sounds like your heater problem is the infamous little white clip under the dash next to the glovebox. I'm sure someone will post a pic.

Thanks for that guys, where exactly will I find the offending microswitch? Also, some elaboration on the "white clip" issue would be welcome! :)

On the back of the lock barrel there is a cam this triggers the micro switch, there is a connector to remove it from the harness!
