Hi all,

Just bought myself an aftermarket rear valance (the toast rack one), it doesn't have any holes in it, so I was wondering if anyone knows how and where its supposed to attach to the bodywork. Many thanks.

I would guess under side off the bumper, with self taping screws, ???

Er, I was more after the correct fixing points and fixings but thanks for the input.

Ha ha, yeah. No worries, if its a ome peace. I would think the fixing points would be spotable. Sorry I can't be off more help.

Just been out to the garage to look at mine and its fastened onto the bumper and to the two side parts of the rear bodywork with nuts and bolts about every 6". I tried to do it myself but had trouble trying to line it up so gave in and got the bodyshop to put it on as they were painting it anyway. The top edge sits just below the two holes for the bumper bolts and this is just right for the exhaust to poke through.Ive seen some with a rubber seal or gasket but mine doesnt have that.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping it would be a nice straight forward job but these cars are rarely like that

I idealy want to limit the amount of holes I put in the bodywork so I don't end up with rust issues. Unfortunately, my budget doesn't stretch to a bodyshop although I'd love to one day get the whole car done!

Well,I tried to do it on my own and gave up but if you had 6 hands ie a couple of mates to help you hold it firmly in place while you drill the holes you should be ok!

Have always found when fitting fibreglass valances to anything it's best to start in the middle and work out.
Find the centre of the valance and the centre of the car and drill holes - from that point it's easy. If you cock it up, you can elongate the hole in the fibreglass valance to give you some movement in the required direction.

Had a trial fit and it looks like it lines up very well with the rear bumper. So I think the way to go is remove the bumper, attach the valance to it then bolt the whole lot back and drill and use self tappers in the rear wings, the battery box rules out using bolts.
