Post subject: | Blocked water drain pipe |
There is what appears to be a water drain pipe that goes from the underside of where the boot pins locate when closing the tailgate on the 968 to somewhere (probably just under the car) which drains the water from the 'well' which the pins lock in to. My tube appears to be blocked on one of the wells as the water isn't draining. Any ideas where to look under the car or where to start? TIA, all help appreciated. |

Is it possible to take the pipe off at the top and blow air down it with a pump? I know I can take them off on my 944 and blow down them, but maybe a foot pump of bike tyre pump would create enough pressure to clear a blockage. |

Yes you can take the pipe off - hadn't thought of that. Will have to try it unless I get any better suggestions. |

U can pull the pipe off and pull the pipe up and out 2 completely disconnect it, well I could on mine. On some off the sunroof drainage pipes had a clip between them and the under body locking them in place. Once removed u can then, use hot water 2 soften the gunk, and tube. Push though with something stiff, electric wire, or a streamer wire. Maybe a wire coat hanger. I would strongly sirguest dismantling the lock and chach pit, as there will be a lot off gunk waiting 2 re block the pipe again. The locks have a set side and need 2 go back on the same side. |

My pipe was clear, it was the pit that was blocked and the water would over flow, so I would recommend taking it all apart 2 clean |

No it was def the pipe that was blocked on mine as when I disconnected the pipe, it was full of water. Have cleaned out the hatch pin pit as well which was pretty gunky. |

That's great, but I'm sure if u can remove the pit ur find it's also full off gunk, just waiting 2 reblock ur pipe at some point. I found that my fixed bolts had came free, and would just rotate in place, so I removed and replaced with need hardware, which was picked up from b and q. 4 dome top 10/65mm bolts 4 nuts and 4 washers. |
