I was going to have the bottom of my off-side wing repaired.... until I dented the top of it last week! Which of these two would you consider the better one to be repaired? It's very hard, well impossible really, to find decent off-side S2 / Turbo wings. These are in Estonia I think, but if the price is right... their postage on other parts is very reasonable - that's assuming they send anything and don't just pocket the money..

Surely one of the UK breakers must have a decent wing lying around. Try douglas valley, or porsch - apart.

Cheers

Craig.

It would probably be cheaper to drive to Estonia (wherever it is), collect the wing, come back and have the job done than it will be to buy one from Douglas Valley.

On Friday morning I e-mailed a long list of parts that I need to Porsche-Apart, and Porkaparts, and even OPC Wilmslow...... but none of them have replied.

At least these guys replied, and when I asked for photographs this morning they responded within the hour.

With the wing in that sort of state it would be a good idea to strip back and rust proof all of the metal in the surrounding area - in particular the sill end caps. After 200 odd k miles, I suppose you can't really complain about a bit of remedial work, eh? S2's seem to be taking a bit of a dip in values lately so there are plenty of uneconomical to repair scrappers coming out of the woodwork to be canibalised.
If you're not in a hurry, a decent wing will likely come up on eBay - there's a good selection of scrappers being broken up all the time. I've bought plenty of parts on eBay for not very much money and been satisfied.

Alternatively, if you're a bit hard up, but handy with the spanners, I know of an abandoned S2 in Ilkeston...

How about buying some wings with vents like Tony's?

Are new wings expensive on these cars then? Or, are they just one of those parts made of "unobtanium"?

They are still available new from Porsche for around £400 and will see you good for another 20+ years

Patch up an old wing and however good your repairer is you'll be doing it again before the new wing rots.

If they are £400 I'll just buy new and squeeze them for discount. When my other one was replaced in 2006 by Lloyds Autobody - the official Porsche repairer - they said that they were 31000 each.

I'll ring Porsche now.

Wing - 951 503 022 02 - £531 inc VAT.... so it will be a repair job.

Bonnet - 944 511 905 00 - £930 inc VAT.... so the £100 being asked is reasonable then.

Is that wing off any use?

Not 2 sure how much a it would cost, but I'm sure if the new metal used was thicker and zinc plated or painted after it would last longer then a thiner type.
