During my ongoing hunt for a 44 I found this newly advertised S2, but I've never seen this colour before. It's not Guards red or the darker Burgundy that my brother's car was, so what's it's Porsche name and do you think it looks a bit brown? It's described as Arena Red, same colour as my Boxster but it does look more "cherry-ish", a bit lighter than mine. Looks OK to me, but I'm sure someone with more 944 expertise will be along soon |

Probably Garnet Red same as car here, viewtopic.php?f=35&t=8398&view=previous Pretty sure Arena Red started on Boxster & 964. |

I've carefully compared it with my car, and it's definitely not Cobalt Blue, so the other guys might be right with Garnet red. |

It's not Garnet red. The advert also says Arena. When I bought my last new 944 in 89, I wanted Garnet red again like the one I had the year before. I had to take Baltic blue as they had stopped doing Garnet. |

In 88 I oredered Garnet Red, and the car arrived after about 6 weeks. While sitting in the showroom, a guy came in - saw it - and wanted to order the same. He was told the colour was no longer availabe from factory. The guy bought another colour 944 - had it stripped to chassis - and told them to repray it Garnet Red. It cost him 7 grand to do that. |
