Had the rather friendly bubble and kick team come collect the car today. Having gaz gold coilovers front and back, hight and dampening adjustment all round. And polybushes fitted though out. Iv also got 968 castor mounts and roll bar upgrades front, triangle brackets and rear adjustable droplinks. Be interesting 2 see how much it all
Changes the car.

Will they be re-indexing the back for you?

Yes, as the ride high can be adjusted, iv asked them 2 lower the back on the torsion bars 1st. Over all im looking 4 a 10-20mm clearance from the tires. (about 1fingers thickness in stead off the 3 it is now. Don't want 2 slam it in 2 the wheel arch, un laydened. If that's 2 low 4 day 2 day driving I can raise it with the adjustments.

I have all the poly bushes, brackets and awaiting a front ARB before I do pretty much the same here. Sticking with the Koni shockers for now though so only planning a small drop on the back. It'll be interesting to see what you think once it's all done.

Iv keep the stock size roll bars as i couldn't find anything with a larger rear then 16mm. Found a few front 26.8 but already having 25.4 I figured the back would possable become inblanced with the front brackets making the front act as a larger size, so I got so rear adjustable droplinks. I think the adjusetment 2 the ride hight will require removemnt off the wheels, maybe able to get acess though the spoke in the rims? :0

Hi Terry,

It was good to meet you today, your car is in our workshop safe and ready for work to commence tomorrow! I'm afraid the wheel will have to come off to adjust the height but it is pretty straight forward.

They were built high at the back, to meet federal bumper and crash requirements. Even a completely standard new car could do with the torsion bars re-indexing by a few splines, just to make the sills level...

Here's how Gaz Gold coilovers look on my 924 turbo. EMC set up with around a 60mm drop over stock, a 10mm nose down over rear and around 150mm ground clearance. 944 units adjusted to fit 924. Been running since last Feb/March. Too harsh initially at 24 of 40 clicks from soft. Just needed to get used to the ride from the soft as mush previous worn out shocks. I softened them up 6 clicks but after using the car quickly I soon put them back to the EMC setting. Rear retains stock torsion bar re indexed, and a helper spring. Hole cut in the sill to aid easy re indexing if required which is usually covered by the turbo sill covers. At around £895 plus fitting, set up and corner weighting they aren't cheap but are superb and great fun at weekends and occasional track day. With this set up I wouldn't want it as my daily driver. However the trade off is superb cornering speed which has had a few passengers squealing with fear as it digs in. Well worth the outlay in my opinion, but not for everyone.

The hole in the seal, is that 4 the dampening adjustments? Think I could prob reach the front though the spokes in my 18" wheels. Not 2 sure yet. Iv got polybushes fitted though out as well. As everything was stock and 22 years old should be interesting. It is a daily drive:/ so were see how much off a bone shaker it becomes.

As the imporment 2 cornering speed what sort off increase in mph are you talking?

The hole in the sill is for removing the torsion bars without dropping the rear end, which is time consuming and a pita!

I have steel trailing arms versus your alloy arms. I need to reach under the rear end with a long screwdriver to adjust the damping of the shock. Yours will probably have a blue dial like the photo of the fronts which you can adjust by hand. Not sure you will be able to reach in through the spokes of the wheels though.

Corner speed - i can't quote mph differences as I haven't done a before and after test. But its night and day difference, but mine is probably lower than yours will be if yours is going to be a daily driver. Mine isn't, it is a bone shaker, but for me this is fine. Its more race car than road car now.

Yes there's lots of adjustment in ride quality from firm quick road to low and hard race style. I'm sure you will enjoy them.

Missing mine, have't driven it for over a month, unlikely to get it back from the bodyshop until end Jan/Feb.
