I tryed the search. Found a similar subject but the result was left unanswered or unsolved.

The noise has just appeared, I was slightly stuck in the snow just before I set out on my jornney. Don't no if this could be some sort off cause?

It started as I was climbing a hill and can be heard on slight bends and straights, and pulling away. All do I can't seem 2 hear it on tight bends, e.g turning in 2 a road or round abouts. Iv check there's nothing lose in the cabin. Checked the exshust/ there's not metal shealds around the rear disc. There's no club up snow in the wheel arches. Iv even removed the rear number. Plate.

Can be heard at mainly 20 mph, and is constant up hills yet is reacuring on straighter level roads.

CV joint? Pads being knocked back? Knackered shocker? (Normally only over bumps)

+1 for a CV joint. Sounds consistent with some form of knackered CV Terry.

About a month or two ago, I was under the car trying 2 establish the size off my rear roll bar, I pulled my self under, and I noticed there was some play in what I think was the drive shaft, on the right hand side, when compered with the left. It could be pulled out a few mm but made a clonking noise when push back. How much work is involved in a cv joint and cost? Is this something that can be done at home?

Just as I was about 2 replace my suspension set up with gaz coilover, and rebuild power steering rack and front wishbones with polybushes and 968 castor mounts. :(

Which I was quoted 1400/1500 depending on is I had wishbone and roll bars repainted. By bubble and kick racing. This is 4 car collection and return as well. Price sound pertty fair?

CVs are around £50 or so each, you'll need new bolts which are around £2 each. If one has gone I'd strip both driveshafts & check & repack all 4 CVs where necessary. It is a bloody filthy job but so satisfying when done! Get a decent CV grease & you'll need a whole 500g pot possibly slightly more. Be careful getting the bolts out as if you cam out the heads it is Mr. Angle Grinder time. Retorque the replacements as they are stretch bolts.

I had two terrible knocks on the back of our track car, a spring had broken retaining the handbrake shoes, and the handbrake cable was adjusted well at the lever, but had loads of slop inbetween each drum, so was slapping.
