I went for a good blat between ice spells on the roads this evening and got some healthy road time in. I stopped at a familiar supermarket chain and a on alighting from the car felt there was a slight smell of rubber / oil burning.

I got back in 1 hr later and headed home, The car felt very sloppy indeed, far to much body roll and almost dangerous at speed? too dark to take a look when I got back. (5 hrs after sunset)

checked tyres, all fine, did usual shock check in each corner, all seemed fine, I will get it over to Edinburgh to be checked out asap as something is not right?

As said body roll at 70mph was alarming.

Thoughts anyone

thanks, have the upgrade bits to fit, so will get it on some ramps soon and check thoroughly.

Its just a shame the ice is coming back so not sure when. I had 30 mins outside in minus 3 degrees in Cupar with no gloves or hat and only three layers, my fault but collection by friend was held up by the ridiculous roads around Cupar, 40 mins from one side to the other at 3.30pm.

warm now but I was freezing.

will check all tyres tomorrow, just back from work.

I use 36psi all round 225/45/17 front 255/40/17 rears I got the figures from the Michelin/Porsche recommendation list as the handbook quotes very high figures and makes the ride very uncomfortable.

Just a note, I can just about fit 255/40/17s in my rear arches without it catching are you sure your tyre ratios are correct maybe they were running a little low on pressure and deforming into the arches.
