I'm about to buy a '91 reg 944 S2 that still has the original Blaupunkt radio/cassette with graphic equalizer underneath it. Is it a straightforward job to swap it for a cd player with storage unit underneath? Are the existing connectors suitable for it or are there any adaptors needed? Any other tips gratefully received, many thanks. Stuart |

Should be same as any other car, u just won't be able 2 find a plug and play kit. Cut and rejoin the wires. |

I'd be inclined to keep it if you can - assuming it all works. A cd changer was an option so a decent ICE fitter could graft the cd changer into your system as long as the HU supports it. I think the graphic equalisers are quite rare especially if it still works. |

I'm definately keeping the originals and the graphic equalizer does still work, just wanted to update it while I'm running the car. Thanks for the replies. |

Anyway its a cowboy job. You can buy the adaptor connectors for your ICE and simply plug it into the 944 connectors without cutting anything. I ordered my adaptors from a US specialist I'll try find a link .You may need an adaptor for the aerial connector too by the way which you can get at Halfords |
