But how do you remove the two plastic caps to reveal the screws?

Good effort so far on the cleaning. As Al says, the only screws to remove are above the rev counter and fuel gauge dials. The two plastic caps are blanking plugs for holes for the front foglight indicator lamp and another (unknown to me) function.

However, I find the best method is to push the rev counter and fuel gauge dials out of the pod from behind first (working upside down in the footwell). This then gives access to undo the speedo cable (working through the two holes), then undo the screws and withdraw the pod. While it's all out, you may as well replace all the bulbs.

A fiddly but rewarding job.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Sent the rear mo 30 shocks away to Paul drake of raceline suspension for reconditioning which were well needed as one had completely collapsed and was just clattering up and down.

Can't wait to get them back :bounce: :D

After spending a year on my drive doing nothing, I have today taken the S2 to have the rear panels after the sills replaced. I've booked it in for an MOT. Intention is to tax it from 01 September then do a road trip to Paris with my beautiful wife.

Here's hoping it all goes to plan.....

Today I managed to fit my second new fog light, nearside this time, after finding out it was a driving light and held in with No Nails and a 3 inch decking screw. Both look good as new now, and I'm £240 lighter! Plenty more jobs on this car to do...Why do people bodge jobs.... 8)

That's very interesting ! Can you shed a little more info on this mod please?

Yes, my sunroof would not fully close so I had been looking around for a manual solution to the problem. Trying to simplify parts as I go. I found a set of manual clips on ebay, took the sunroof out, removed the parts for the electric sunroof and the manual clips where a direct replacement. However when i came to remove the parts inside the car, the receiver for the clip would not fit. So I removed the motor, rail, and wormdrive parts leaving the plastic runners, with the headlining back up you can't see them and the clips lock tight on to them, so I didn't need to fit the receivers. I will take pictures when I am back in two weeks time.

Thanks, look forward to viewing the pics, I'm fed up with my sunroof rattling so might attempt your fix!

Good weather Good company and excellent fun (even though I cant go as fast as the car want's too :) )
Stil have a slight problem with new front brake squeal at low speed even after 1000 miles.

Front brakes done - think an upgrade next year when the pads are next needed will be done though!

Koni Inserts installed with new bump stops and gaitors

Now for a massive road trip!!

Fitted ARB supports, changed broken wing mirror glass on offside, fixed passengers wing mirror, sealed leaking wheel, then swapped Janspeed box and decat to middle silencer and original back box. Had a pint after that, perfect :)

Why did you swap the exhaust back to standard?

those twin pipes on angle looked a bit wrong, but it sounded great. Can't decide now to keep it or sell it

Bit of a tidy round the 968 today, adjusting hatch pins, greasing hinges, etc. I also replaced the pedal rubbers and sun visor clips. NEVER BE TEMPTED TO BUY THESE FROM EBAY!!! Sunvisor clips on eBay about £7 each, OPC £2.59 Pedal rubbers on eBay about £5, OPC £1.41 and the club discounts pays the VAT :D
