Is the final spec all sorted now?

I guess the final spec will be dependant on what intercooler and downpipe he can fit when the engine is installed. I don't think he intends to run as much boost on the road though.

any progress on this?? all gone a bit quiet. im considering a similar build myself, and so would be keen to see how this engine is performing now?

just read the whole thread and gives some good insight into the sort of power that's achievable on a 2.7, I wouldn't be aiming for so much power as this. 500-550bhp is plenty and so I could run less boost or smaller turbo, or 2.5 capacity.

awesome engine!

When youre on the page that you want to link to click the address in the address bar three times and it will become highlighted. Right click > copy. In your post here, right click > paste.

Then youll be asking me how to make clicky links...

:) Interesting project isn't it. He's not far from me so I popped in for a chat a while back, a lot of development and money has gone into the conversion. I've held fire on my 8v 3.0 project to see how this one works out and to maybe incorporate some of his parts into my engine.

:D Or I just ask my daughter to do it when she's home from Uni.

THIS is a clicky to the page that we are on now. If you click the blue 'THIS' then it will open a new window/tab on most forum software. Tipecs will open it in place of your current window which is rubbish, but you can right click > open in new tab to force it to open a new window.

If you click quote-reply then youll be able to see the magic syntax that I used to hide the actual link and make the clicky.

A link which opens the page that youre already on in the same window isnt the best demonstration, so THIS is a Rennlist topic on oil pressure, as I wasnt able to find the engine build thread in question.

Thanks, I'll give it a try later. Tim told me he typed out a long explanation here about everything he'd done on his 2.7 16v turbo engine but when he tried to post it the page had timed out and he lost it all.

I have finally got it back together and back on the dyno. Fired it up this evening and all is looking good, except I seem to have an air leak on the manifold which I am going to sort out in the morning. I'm them hope to get it mapped.

Cheers Tim
