Yours looks better than mine even before the respray![/quote]

It is a clean looking car but when it was last painted about 6/7years ago by the previous owner a couple of areas could have been finished better. I'm going to be much more fussy with my painter so it'll be a proper job this time!

Fitted my new brake disks on all 4 corners today. Pagid disks, gave the mating surfaces a right good clean up, particularly the rears where I think my problem with shudder has been, bedded them in and they feel great. Add that to my recent brake fluid flush and change and my new ABS pump and my brakes are now tip top and as Porsche intended!!

And my brake shudder is now gone, only 4 years I had that for lol!

Jon - thanks for the info on your like of Porsches, no wonder you support our old 944s so much. What other cars do people like then? I like old land rovers as well as Porsches. I would love to have TVR as well.

Good work on the brakes - glad I am not the only person who takes a while to get the time/money/space to do simple stuff! Driving in the rain or on the motorway over the last few months my car has felt like the front wheels are floating. Done the rear shocks and the ride height is back where it should be and the result is the front isnt in the air. Why did i do this a year ago!?

I do have a soft spot for TVR's. Went through a spell of running Grantura's in my yoof. I had 5 in total (not all at the same time)! Saw one on ebay today, £25,000!!!!!

I was interested to see Jon's comment about how safe 944's are in a crash. I thought that they would be good, because of the big firewall, the large transmission tunnel, the torsion bars right behind you and the solid torque tube. Nice to hear that someone agrees with me.

I had a rather big accident that wrote off my 944 turbo a few years ago now, i was also really impressed with the strength & safety of the car considering its age. I'll post up a couple of pics of the damaged car later.

Decat fitted yesterday pulls nicely and is more lively from about 2k.

Wanted the o2 sensor replaced as I seem to be averaging 22mpg at the moment and I was expecting a little more...but they couldnt get it out...is this a common problem ?

Heat and the right socket will do the trick no matter how rusted.

That's the only couple i can find just now, just a cut finger from the window glass & a bit of whiplash. I wouldn't like to think of the injuries had I been driving a lesser car.

I bet you needed a change of pants after that. The door peeling away from the A pillar is a bit scary.

Lol yeah! I remember the 1st thing I said to my passenger when we came to rest was "I can't get to my handbrake!"

When my oldest son mark managed to roll his first car, I got there just after the Police, his car was in the bushes and the hazard lights were flashing.. At the time he said he switched on the Hazards, undid his seat belt and fell into the headlining... Which I thought was remarkable presence of mind to put on the hazards after something like that... I would be heading out of the car pronto and "sod the hazard lights"

More interesting, when the recovery driver and I flipped the car onto its wheels and tried to pull it onto the flatbed, it became obvious that he had also pulled the handbrake up at the same time... Which has been a running joke since, that he parked a car on its roof, and pulled up the handbrake and put on the hazards before getting out!

Did a few nice little jobs today. Restored and installed new leather gaiter and gearstick plus a lovely leather steering wheel lozenge all from JMG. Topped up the oil, empties and washed out the screenwash reservoir and refilled. Just little things but all made me happy!

Also did something I've been meaning to do for ages - bought a large plastic box with lid and put every single 944 spare in it so everything is together. Feels good and no more searching through the garage.

Sometimes the small jobs are the most satisfying ones.
How are you getting on with the Dansk? and how long did it take for delivery? I ordered mine monday and I'm still waiting for it...
