That's not the best. It's as flat as a pancake here on the Cheshire plains and Ikea is only about 2 miles away :)

After visiting JMG on Saturday for my 1985 oval dash Lux inspection I finally have a very comprehensive to-do list!
Started today with cam cover oil leak fixed and idle adjusted. good day.
Cheers,
Yuriy

Sorted out the instrument lights and the handbrake warning light - also picked up a Sony DAB stereo so looking at aerial options. Want the best reception so a roof aerial similar to the 968 is likely to be the solution.

Been out there today, fitting the back seats and boot carpets. All going well except
the brackets that hold the top of the seat back aren't compatible with the car. Night have to think about just recovering the old seat back with the new cover. Bit more than I wanted to do, but whatever it takes to get it looking good.
The new
interior is from a 924,obviously putting it into an S isn't straight forwards.
The sunroof motor makes a difference to the fitting of the boot carpets.and also the S has rear seat which the donor car didn't.
fitted a different stereo that is more fitting to the interior of the Porsche.
Didn't take any pictures as it was getting dark as I was packing up

I think the I heard somewhere that the roof is double skinned and a bit of pig to fit an aerial to

hmmm that could be annoying but not insurmountable!!

Update: Have ordered a roof antenna with DAB and AM/FM which is amplified aswell. When it comes to fitting fingers crossed i can make it fit (measure 5 times I am thinking!)

Discovered that the body work man at my (very) local indie classic car specialist used to work for Porsche, so he knows the cars inside out! Having major sill work done now, and done properly for the first time in the car's history.

nothing, but i did go and look at a rather nice 944 '86. for sale locally today. up for £3000, 92k miles, needs new rear seats, tyres and front pads a lot of porsche independant servicing. I wasnt looking for myself, but rather a friend. I did however turn up in the 924S. spent more time going over that than the 944. I thought the bloke was going to ask for a swap :D
Didnt go for it in the end. wouldnt go down to the right price
Can pass on there number if anyone is interested

Bought a replacement motor from DV (yes I know). Came out of what was once a lovely car that has had a smack on the nearside. It has a good history and only 85k ( I hope) probably from a car mentioned on this forum somewhere. After pricing up various options seemed the best solution and it will be off the road minimum time. She's been great in the snow on winter tyres. Can't help but smile at modern fwd cars that are absolutely u/s or maybe it's the drivers.

Not at all Jon! Bits and bobs here and there - nothing serious.
I actually would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Mark and Jamie were very helpful and Mark's knowledge is really comprehensive. It is always a pleasure to deal with professionals (especially for free :D - I actually felt guilty for that).
Anyways, thank you guys. I'm sure some day I'll pop-up in your garage again.

I just HPI checked mine. (Yes, I should have done it before I bought it 16 months ago!) I wanted some piece of mind before considering a full respray. (at the very least!)

All clear, with just the one plate change from '94 to '98 :D
Quite surprised actually, seeing as it's had more paint than Dulux!

Made good use of the nice weather to do about 80 miles of driving, including a B road blast on the B645 from A6 to A1 and back. 8)
Also refitted the fuse box back into its (awkward) location, rather than hanging in the footwell from my DME investigations.
