924 Carrera GT JIm, yep he did race one a bit, but that car was built as a race car and the road versions sold were for homologation purposes only I beleive, so thats 500 cars I think, not really representative compared with racing 911's, but anyway we were really speaking front versus rear I thought, if we are going down the race road I think there would be no discussion ?

I refer you to Frenchy's confirmation. Marketing is a powerful force. When will we see a Cayman Turbo, I wonder....?

Yep, take all that on board, 924/944 were good motors, apart from the 'specials' though they did relatively little for the first 15 years of their existance , and like so many other older cars it has been much later with better engineering availability and indeed specialists that they have been able to affordably develop their potential. Anyway, to get back to the thread earlier 911's could be a little tricky if you were not totally familier with their handling. As they developed with slightly less 'overhang' better wheels , setup, and certainly Tyres , they became a lot more benign. I think a lot of the issues spoken about 911 handling would evaporate given more 'car' time and it certainly helps if chalanging driving conditions (ideally off road) can be utilized , I think its all about familiarity and confidence .

There have been non Porsche turbo kits available for a while, but the Cayman is a quick and nimble car from A to B anyway.

And I do like the 944 shape and handling.

Yes, but I will say there is nothing between a Cayman and a GT3 I would want.
