A sticker celebrating a victory in June 1982 doesnt bode well for category 3 eligibility... I still wish that Id seen it though. I also have a a set of three piece wheels which whouldve suited this, too...

Why reply in that tone? Your attitude is obvious from your post.

Did you expect posts saying: 'oh, nice one - you should have asked even more for it'?

No 'issue', just an interest. This was a car advertised here on the forum, clearly sold for £500 or less and you've just advertised it again at almost triple having what looks like copied and pasted part of the original advert into your own.

I wondered:

Why you are selling so quickly

What you have done to the car to warrant the additional premium on the price you only just bought it from.

I'm not having a go, just interested.

Fair enough, not that I have to justify myself, but as you asked. Chris put the car on here on Fri Apr 19, 2013 8:32 pm for £600. so anyone interested had a fair chance to buy it. He dropped the price to £500. when I saw the ad I couldn't belive that such an early car was 'worth' so little? I contacted Chris and asked about the possibility of him getting an MOT on the car as I'm in North Essex and he's north of Birmingham, he did this on the agreement that I bought the car for £600. no messing around. Chris had the car MOT'd, I got a lift up, paid cash and drove home. Everyone hapy?
Since getting the car home I've sold the leather front and rear seats and fitted a pinstripe interior, given the car a good clean and not much else.
I've decided to put my 928 and this 944 (and my Saab 9-5 Aero) up for sale and get a 944 Turbo. I value this early 944 more than Chris did, simple, IF I get close to the asking price remains to be seen, BUT I won't be selling it for £600. it can stay for a while longer and I may well get the paint sorted.

Anyway, hope this helps, and sorry if my reply sounded defensive! I didn't advertise the 944 here as there is obviously no interest. Chris if you're reading and you're not happy you're welcome to collect the car and refund my £600.

Anyone selling a nice Turbo?

Pete

The interior was the thing I though held it back the most, and i'd say sorting that will easily pay back it's cost. Whether it will double the value remains to be seen, but I adopted more or less the same attitude at £600 - if I cant get that it's not worth selling.

Maybe I undervalued it, and maybe that's why no one bought it - there are an awful lot of extremely rough examples out there with incredible asking prices for what they are. This has potential to be really nice, its one of very few rust free examples of an early 944 and i'd commend it to people on here as a car worth bearing in mind. You won't need to do any welding - but it needs a paint job if you want a really nice looking car.

Good luck selling, thanks for the offer but I don't really want it back as I've not really anywhere to put it :D

I've got a day off on Wednesday and I'll be taking the Fuchs off to check the sizes then, I'm sure they're all 16x7 though once I know the size I'll be open to offers.

Any chance of some decent photos of the paintwork on this one to see how bad it is? Now I've got a spare set of wheels to keep my early car mobile ish I can sell that, it's too far gone to be viable for a project and I really need a normal car as a daily but another early car is still an option especially without the problem of leaky sunroofs. My Fuchs will look great on it too
