Yes it was on Ebay a while back. But the oil smoke made me pull the ad and replace the engine (86 951 engine now fitted with forged rods and k26/8)

It will be on Ebay again soon when i have sorted a minor dent in the wing, changed the leaky steering rack and fitted a speedo sensor.
Id expect it to see £5000-£5500 going by last time. I doubt there is a faster or better condition Porsche on offer at this kind of money.
When removed it there were somthing like 300 watchers!

I tried a 924 nose, disliked it and the GT bonnet is hideous and there is little point without the cooler there, the bumper is so close to the lux one its not worth the effort unless its a full rep.

This is my 7th Porsche and the last one i will own. Oh the hate...

I believe your valuation is more than reasonable truth be told. It is certainly something special, and probably captures many an imagination which is always good:). Sorting out those other small details should also go long way IMO.

As it is, you probably have the looks spot on as you figured. As for it being your last Porker, has Porsche ownership bitten you that hard? OK I can appreciate it has had a couple of engines now and small niggles but...

For some reason I thought you were considering a Boxster.

Thanks Chas, its almost there. Its driving better than it ever has now.

(Don't read this if your a die hard Porsche fan)

I did consider a Boxster, seems a lot of car for the money. Also considered a 996.
Then came to my senses, they will break and they will cost silly money to repair.
Even though the parts are no better than other German cars they cost 60% more due to Porsche tax.
I have had enough of it. If I had spent the 944 money on an Audi/BMW I would have a much better vehicle.

The 986 Boxster makes no sense when compared to a 3.0 Z3 or a Z3M. Parts are cheaper, easier to work on and lees likely to
randomly kill its engine. (had 2 in at work in a month with IMS fail). I found the drive just as good or better.
The 996 idea was bad as a cheap 996 is going to be a money pit too. Better off with an e46 M3.

Ideally looking for a 2.8/3.0 coupe Z3.

I really hope you get Turbo money for your car Gav!

It really is a superbly modified car, and anyone whose followed your build threads will pay a fair price for it as it really is quite a legendary car to boot! Long live C5BTR
