today I filled up with fuel having averaged 27 mpg. I am pretty happy with that since that was almost all commuting with me sat in traffic or crawling along! also half hour at least idling, and me playing with the child start map.

401 miles and then I found there is a low fuel light! who knew!

Today I jacked the car right up on 4 Axel Stands, removed all 4 wheels, did a bit more de-rusting/painting/undersealing, tried to remove the driver side under skirt plastic trim, sheared off 3 of the studs and 2 of the plastic speed nuts are not coming off! grrrrrrrr then gave up on that and painted in some stone chips on the front badge panel. I hope for next summer to have it back on the road, until then I'm going to work on it to make sure I feel fully confident it will last me at least the next 10 years!

I will get some pics up soon!

I thought you were about to get it back on the road Kat - how much do you have left to finish?

Argghh well I'm taking my time over it now and because I've been away all of september and now the weather is getting cold, I can't really make much progress on it. Plus funds are non existant for me at the moment. So, I have a CV boot to replace, the exhaust has a leak and is reverberating somewhere...and I think also the Engine Mounts are gone but I'm not sure and I haven't actually physically seen them yet, it's going to take some time  Fingers crossed I'll have some work by next summer :o

Well you'll get there - and it will be well worth it, and a nice rare colour too

This week some of the cars in my collection made a forward or backward step :?

One of my 968's lost a camshaft, donated to a customer who desperately needed one.. My one will not be driven again until next summer anyway, so all in the name of a good cause.

One of my other 968's has an empty engine bay, where it is now waiting for its 3.0 Turbo RS engine to be built and installed over the winter when we have some time (or IF), while its original engine had a minor service rebuild and was transplanted into an early 944 for a customers project.

My beloved white 86 944 turbo has been used as a shed to store a customers 964 new brake pipe set until he can get down to collect them, just to make sure they are not mixed up with stock and used on another customers car!... Not totally happy with the idea of my turbo being a shed!! But needs must when space is tight!

Bought a new whale tail spoiler rubber and frame for my 930 turbo beast, ready to get it resprayed over the winter months at some point. Not quite on topic for this thread strictly.

And one of my other Turbo's received its refurbed original Design 90 wheels, in preparation for being made ready to sell.

My Baltic blue 944 S2 has sold and has been at the bodyshop having the stone chips sorted for its new owner..

So been a busy week already working on the mission to cut down my Porsche collection to a manageable level and getting some of my others where I want them to be.

Just need to decide what to do with the other twenty or so Porsche in my collection and scrap the 10 or so parts cars I have accumulated..

Must resist buying any more Porsche!!! (for now!)

Hi Jon,

Who did them and how much did they charge, if it's not too cheeky to ask :) ? Are you happy with the result?

Over the last few weeks, I have put a battery vent bottle on the S2 (to replace the lash up made from a shampoo bottle that's been on there for the last 14 years!), topped up the battery cells and replaced the cracked boot light. The Halfords trickle charger I've used for years finally died, so I treated myself to a new CTek 3600. Then I ummed and ahhed about blowing £200 on an indoor car cover.

The Lux I've just driven. Every day

There are several companies I am trying out at the moment.

But I for years I have been recommending customers use a company near southampton called solent wheels and everyone has been coming back with good stories or workmanship and price.

Drove mine for the first time in two weeks yesterday, fired straight up and used it to transport the mountain bike, set some personal best times on the bike and gave the car a good thrashing once the oil was nice and warm.
Need to lean out warm idle a little and maybe adjust the boost controll for the cooler air but otherwise it went well.
Good day overall.

Only downside is the interior now looks like a sand pit and the bike now has a siezed rear caliper and looks like its been dug up.

Having completed the replacement of the clutch slave cylinder, after a quick test drive decided I would give her a wash & polish as the sun shining on her was showing up the dirt. Typical British weather, half way through the wash the heavens opened!

Drove around for a week with no balance belt as it was so loose it was in risk of coming off and taking the timing belt with it! No balance belt is an experience!

Bought new timing and balance belts, fitted in about 3 hrs.. All seems well

Wouldn't recommend running with no balance belt!!

Today I spent the first 2 hours taking off the exhaust header pipes, then I let out about 9 litres of light brown slime from the radiator. :(
