Got some Dynax S50 into the sills. I used the vents to get into the rear side and the inspection holes under the carpet to get to the front section. Plan to have another go and then probably once year. Hopefully that will help to keep keep rust away.

After sorting the brakes I've developed another problem. Bad running on part throttle, idles fine, wot fine. I can hear an air leak down by the oil filler tube and I had a puff of oil smoke on over run. I think an AOS seal is going. Ah well it's all good fun and I can give it all a good clean down there. The seals are cheap but it's a long job to change them.

Relocated the Saratoga sunroof from the spare room today and fitted it to the car. It had some sticky marks from the packaging that cleaned off easily and it slid straight in without the need of adjustment in the front catches but I cant help thinking long term these should have been made from alloy rather than nylon. The roof is lighter than the original and appears to seal well without any wind noise but were the seal is wonky it does protrude when the roof is shut, does anyone else have this problem?

Btw the extra light it gives is a welcome bonus and it wasn't really any hotter in the car :D

Took the S2 across to The Porsche Centre at Portsmouth to pick up a set of locking wheel nuts now that the wheels have been refurbished and had new tyres fitted...

Very nice 356 on display in the showroom, very loud, early Camaro with a crowd around it listening to the V8 rumbling. You could feel it down to your socks when it was being revved up!

Friendly service and parts ordered on Friday arrived promptly.

More of what have I un-did on my 924 but..................

As I can count the number of times in 4 years I've used the stereo in my 924 on one finger I decided today to rip it and associated speakers\cabling out. I have a single din storage cubby on the way to fill the gap in the dash and provide some extra storage space but on the look out for some standard rectangle speaker covers to cover the holes in the door panels which were clearly put in by a 5 year old!!!!

Picked up a few bits from Leeds OPC today. Hatch seal, bonnet/scuttle seal, sunroof seal and new scuttle cover. Hatch seal is clearly a lot better than the one on the car. I'm hoping that wind noise and engine smell will be reduced after replacing the seals.

The scuttle cover is a little embarrassing, as I bought it thinking I didn't have one. The mechanic I use had said it was missing but now I can see that it is there but just has some bits broken off. The new one seems to be a 968 part (945 part number) so I hope it fits ok. Should be interesting as it goes on to the wiper attachment which I have no idea how to take off.

Fitted the new hatch and sunroof seals yesterday. Wow the sunroof is hard to fit back with the new seal, but especially so if you put the seal on the wrong way round like I did at first  . Even with it on properly I had to work hard to get it to sit right. I wonder if putting something heavy on top for a while would be a good idea, at the moment I would not want to take panel out until the new seal settles down a bit.

As for the hatch, that was fun... not. I still have a couple of issues so I think I'll need to do it again unfortunately. The top section is really difficult because of the trim that comes round the lip and goes under the seal. It seems previous seal replacement had pushed some sections away and bunched it up. These bits no longer wanted to go under the seal and look a bit untidy, so I'll have to see what can be done about that.

Also, I seem to have too much seal (about 2 inches). Has anyone else replaced their hatch seal with the OE seal and found this? I don't think anything is streched but I'm going to double check. Looking at my old seal it is definitely hacked at the end so maybe this is just how it is..?

Hi brulynn,

I'll hold on to any cut off, not sure it will be all that seems spare at the moment though because I expect there will be a bit of stretch in the corners. Alternatively I still have the old seal if that will help you. It's not in the best nick but you might find a usable peice to cut off it.
