Thanks all for the feedback :)

Pilch - it's a Turbo rep effectively... Running gear engine etc in it. Started life as a N/A 2.5 Lux

Front bumper crack repaired braced with ali strip and pop rivets, won't be seen as its on the return at the bottom, saved myself £350 quoted for 2nd hand one. Cleaned loads of compost from in front of oil cooler which was totally blocked, good idea to check yours. Replaced steering shaft. At least I can drive it now though she still looks a bit sad.

Been putting her through her paces over these 150 miles or so this week and she's performed brilliantly bar one slight issue... there is something rubbing/ catching ever so slightly on the disc. I think it's the NSF as it can be affected by turning... It doesn't go away under braking so I'm assuming it's not the pads being loose and catching at all... Drives fine otherwise so I reckon it's something and nothing but will have a nosey when I get chance.

Whilst we have a loft conversion and a skip in front of the garage meaning I cant get the car out I thought I'd replace the inlet manifold gasket as I know its leaking slightly, due to the "I may as well change xyz as well" the job has become a full head rebuild with all seals\gaskets replaced and lots of cleaning.

Slowly coming back together but decided I may as well replace the engine mount as well while the exhaust is off and access is easy. Hopefully see some improvements by the time the skip goes!!!!

Took her for a run up to Bolton OPC to see their Carrera GT this evening. Saw another two 968's in stunning condition :)

Great to see the restoration for real this evening :D

Thanks again to Adam and all at Bolton OPC for tremendous hospitality. Great to see the project nearing completion, it's testament to the expertise, knowledge and dedication at Bolton

Got the head back on this week along with every gasket\seal I could reach getting replaced, all earth points cleaned\replaced and the driver side engine mount replaced. Spent this afternoon getting the exhaust back on and coolant\oil refilled then moment of crossed fingers\praying and turned the key....................

Started fine :-) I needed to set the mixture & idle plus bleed the coolant but running much much better. Now to get it MOT'd (once the skip is off the driveway), taxed and ready for Silverstone at the end of the month.

Really chuffed with it running 100% and everything so much cleaner.

Exhaust started blowing like mad. Sounded like a jet engine taking off followed by a metal on metal rattle. Sounded like it was coming from the manifold so I checked into that and found out new ones from Porsche require a mortgage. Carefully I drove it to my local exhaust centre for them to confirm the bad news.... Left it with them and went to work feeling very sorry for myself until, I get a phone call around 1pm with them saying it's all sorted, the nuts had come loose on the manifold and a gasket was worn. Replaced the gasket, tightened the nuts and I have a 944 that sounds and drives better than it has in my ownership. Obviously been going for some time. As you can imagine, I'm a happy chappy.

It's not really a "today" post more a last 10 days post but I'm back from the Le Mans trip with the car in one piece - well almost!

I'll put a specific thread together later!

I tend to treat my car like my mrs. So give her a long drink and slip inside her for some fun.
