Rubbish I forgot that was on this weekend, only 30 mins from me. I spent the day trying to get the air con out of the 944 instead.

Still at least the Tatton Park show is on next weekend.

I'll look out for you Al the next time i'm in Grinstead I'm only up the road in Oxted.

The belts in the back are for the kids so size is not an issue.
The lights still go up but yes I left them up as I didn't want to risk a fail if they jammed and didn't raise fully.
I'm going to take some more pics very soon, once I'm finish with the T cut and polish.

I've just bought an old Blaupunkt stereo which I need to wire in and I've bought lots of other stuff :D now I know there's no major problems.

Let the fun begin :D no more laying under it covered in oil :D

Did loads today now the car has passed the MOT :D

Cleaned the contacts on the window switches and lubricated the passenger side winder mechanism, tried and failed to fix the fuel gauge, started fitting rear inertia seat belts I Only found 3 mounting holes so I'm going to fabricate a bracket to fit the reels in the boot.
Tried fixing my headlights so they go down but some idiot has hacked the wires for the motor so I need a new one.

1) I hope you're only taking very small people in the back! Even though it's a 944 and that's amazing enough, I've still had passengers giving up trying to ride in the back.

2) How did you manage to pass the MOT with non-working headlight motors? Did you just leave them up constantly?

3) Any new pictures of your car? Your first picture is getting old!

Fitted a new dizzy cap and serviced the injectors with new o rings, caps and filters.
Helicoiled the bolt holes for the fuel rail as the threads were past their best.

Over the last couple of weekends in between a lot of other commitments I have replaced the Clutch Master cylinder, flexi pipe and reservoir (inc. soft hose) with an almost new looking second hands set from ebay for £30. I decided it was worth a go! I rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder as well and put some fresh fluid and bled it using an EazyBleed (very handy bit of kit!). The old master had disintegrated to the point the actuating rod from the back of the pedal was not actually connected at all to the cylinder! The slave was looking pretty bad to...

Fitted a second hand starter motor and cleaned up all the terminals from the battery and on the starter solenoid.

Money is not available massively for cars at the moment so decided to gamble on eBay. A lot of horror stories about not rebuilding the slave cylinder unless it was in perfect order almost put me off but I decided it was worth a go - cleaned it very carefully inside and out. Mine was pretty tired looking but so far the clutch feels good, just need the small return spring (mine was snapped) to turn up in the post.

The starter motor and battery terminal work has made such a difference - she used to struggle to start before which was hugely annoying, now she just bursts into life! The small earth strap from the negative terminal looked ok but I un-wound it and found green corrosion on the bits of cable that were touching each other. Took a minute to clean that off and wind it back round. To those with issues starting clean the terminals and check the earth strap, it might just do it!

New windscreen on Tuesday as found a chip has now led to a crack but I have a 130 miles of commuting to do until that point.

Re injector filters.

Took some thinking/worrying about. I screwed a self tapping screw in and pulled it with a pair of pliers. As a side note the original filters looked fine.
I found it harder to get the caps off.
