Hey Brucey, not wanting to seem to be profiting from some ones missofrtune and all that.

One of my longest standing mates owns a Porsche 944 and recently killed the engine in a fatal loss of fluids.
(It had been standing for years whilst we were touring).

So he is in the market for a new engine.

So your mate who breaks them, would he sell the engine and if so, what price?

My mate loves his Porsche and just doesn't want to scrap it.

P.S. hope your search for a new Porsche is going OK?

Hiya everyone, well just to let you all know I am finally the proud owner of another Porsche. I got an absolutely great deal, it's a 1999 Boxster on an S plate in midnight blue with a full grey leather interior, I spotted it on Auto Trader website but was a little bit concerned because it had done 114,000 miles but decided that as it was only 2 miles away from my house I would go and have a look. I got there and after looking at all the receipts I quickly realised that the guy who owned it had done so on a "no exspense spared" basis and it also has a full service history (upto 96,000 OPC and then onwards at Loe Bank Motors). We went for a spin and it drove superbly but the air con wasn't blowing cold which was a deal breaker for me after not having it in the 944S throughout last summer :angryfire: He wanted £6,200 ono and I asked him what his bottom line was and he said he would take £5,700 :D I said we'd have a deal at that subject to the air con being fixed, he agreed. I also said I would be happier if it had 12 months M.O.T instead of the 5 months that it had and he said while it was in getting the air con looked at he would get that done for me, it passed with advisorys (brake lines showing signs of corrosion, rear discs slightly corroded and pitted, excess play in the anti roll bar link etc) and the air con needed a new condensor and a re-gas estimated at £500. He rang me up and asked me if he sorted everything out would I come up to £6,000 and I happily agreed. He gave the garage the go ahead and recieved a bill for £1,400.
When he handed me the keys yesterday he told me that the guy at Loe Bank said I am getting an absolute bargain :D
I am chuffed to bits and am glad to be back in a Porsche. Thanks for reading.
Andy Bruce.
