944 estate looks good in my eyes

If they produced that now it would sell. Lots more room for prams & stuff. Might even get the wife in

I second that. I would get one if cash flow was no object. It would be ideal for me with all the medical test kit I have to lug around the county with me. It would also be ideal extra space as we're expecting the imminent arrival of our 2nd child. Mind you, that said, I can fit 2 child seats in the 944 in standard trim...just. It's tight, but with the use of extender seat belts they will fit safely.

Hi,

I have a Mothercare own brand car seat in the back for my daughter ,age 4, (suitable for group 1, 2 and 3) and the new born (when it arrives) will go into a Graco (Group 0) car seat in the front. The Graco one comes with a base unit making it easier to fit the baby seat without having to mess about with the seat belts all the time, but you will need to fit an extender seat belt.

It is possible to get both car seats in with a bit of time and effort. Its a bit of trial and error getting the front seat in the optimum position. I've also purchased an extender belt from Porsche shop for about £13.60 (might be less, I did ask for TIPEC discount! ). You unbolt the front seat belt from the floor anchor point and bolt in the new length of seat belt. It comes with all the fixings and fasteners you need. I'm holding fire on fitting this until the car has been a) MOT'd and b) baby is with us. I will get some pictures up of this arrangement though.

Best place to get a car seat from is Mothercare. The Mothercare in Leeds city centre (near Tetley Brewery) is probably nearest to you. They will allow you to try before you buy. I hate the newer car seats! They all seem to come with massive base units that won't sit correctly because of the seat bolsters.

PM me if you need any further info. I think I'm pioneering a useful family sports hatch these days.

Regards, Ben :bounce:

Personally I really don't like any of these shooting brake conversions. If you want fast with a boot then I reckon these are much more like it...

Yes I would love one off those 944 estates if only they would come up for sale more often!
