they even went to the trouble of mixing cut sections of metal to mix with filler, to pass the magnet test by potential buyers and mot testers :shock:

Hi Jim

Porsche had improved things by the 968. I have never heard of one with the rear sill problem. I found those sills great protection against stone chips too.

I think it is only a matter of time. It wasn't that long ago that 944s weren't supposed to rust.

All 944's are galvanised. That lasts 10 years. Then the steel is pretty thick & good quality. But the 968 will rust like anything else. Mines 22 years. Not bad when you see how many modern cars rot after 5! :)

This is the back of the panel (under the wheel arch), quite a mud trap.
