Well, I have found out why nothing works, the G3 relay is completely missing! I have ordered one but why would someone remove the old one? should I look out for anything when I install the replacement?

Thanks

Steve

SMOKE?

Seriously it's quite a coomon relay to be missing, middle of summer headlight relay dies, nick the one from the HRW & forget to replace when the winter comes.

When I switch on the heated rear screen the light on the switch comes on but the heater doesn't work. Neither do the heated front screen nor the rear view mirrors which I assume are on the same switch, this is a problem on these cold and frosty mornings!

I have checked the fuse and that seems OK and so does the wiring, so I would be grateful for any suggestions as to where to look next? is there a relay that covers these things?

Thanks in advance for any help

regards

Steve

I havent read the other posts, so apologies if Im duplicated what someone else has already said.

The rear hatch struts are sided and the rear window may not work properly if a matched pair is not installed in their correct location. As there are a number of possible variatiions, combined with a number of different wiring schemes, then the possible failures are manifold. Heated rear window not working is a faily common symptom though, usually allied with other electrical gremlins. In my old track car the indicator fuse would blow as soon as the ignition was turned on, but Ive heard of countless other issues too.

If theres power, earth and continuity across the element then Id expect thsi to be the case.

Simon
