Hi,
I've just joined the group. I was searching the web looking for ideas / reasons my 944 has a misfire when I came across a link to your post. I am going through the same thing now. After finding low compression on cyl 4 I removed and overhauled the head, refitted and have the same misfire. After eliminating fuel and electrical faults I now suspect either sticking rings? or u/s rings. The bores are fine. You did not say if it was the head at fault or you replaced the rings? Could you let me know please? Did you remove the head and sump and replace with the engine block still fitted? I currently have the bore soaking in sea foam in the hope this cures the fault but do hold much hope. The car has done 77k and has loads of history with regular servicing and oil changes. I am waiting for an adaptor to carry out a cylinder leakage test to confirm my fears.

Any info gratefully received

Cheers Mike
