Porsche's list of "approved tyres" for older cars as of August 2014.

This topic prompted me to check the age of the tyres on my 944S2. I've had the car 3 years, so was thinking they must be due to change soon anyway. 1 didn't have a DOT code at all, 1 had a DOT code with no numbers, 1 had a DOT code of 3007 (bad enough) and the last one had 1002 - which means it was manufactured in 2002! 'kin scary or what?

So, I've stuck with the list of approved tyres quoted above and ordered Continental Contisport Contact all round. Cost from tyreleader.co.uk was £312.36, which does not include fitting.

Cheers,
Bryan

Out of interest how are you finding the continentals? I've been told that my suspected wheel bearing resonating humm could actually be the new continental sportcontacts I have on the back.

After much deliberation I just ordered a set of Bridgestone S02's - with the N code.

Paid a bit more than others have - £397 but that's the price from my nearby National Tyres depot - fully fitted, valves and balanced etc.

Should be going on the car on Saturday if not before.
