This post could not have come around at a better time as I just bought a 928 today and had to get it insured. My current insurer who I mentioned above were not so competitive.

Classicline and peterjamesinsurance.co.uk gave me the best quotes. I went with peterjamesinsurance because I could purchase online via their web out of hours and drive away tonight!!!

Id expect Classicline and Lancaster to be the best, and Sureterm and Heritage to be dearer, but similar to each other and with inferior policies.

My 968 is my 3rd car. I've got a Mondeo company car, an E36 BMW which is on a normal car insurance policy (was my daily run about until I got the company car and will shortly be sold) and the 968 on a classic policy from CVI who sponsor TIPEC. I pay them £268 a year for 5,000 miles, windscreen cover, £100 excess and guaranteed £6K value with the certificate to prove it. My no claims is on the BMW policy and not the classic policy. For the forseeable future I'm unlikely to go back to a self owned daily driver so this all works out well for me. CVI have always been very helpful and professional. I like them.

19 wow that should sort out the chaff from the wheat
When I sent my dozen or so e-mails there were many no replies, needless to say they didn't want or get my business, obvious statement really, but it does give you a list of options for the following year as usually the 2nd year ends up being much dearer!, then you have to get them to beat competitive quotes, annoying really. Having sad that it has not been the case with peterDjames on the Tweaked 944 Turbo: but has been the case with many of previous everyday cars which I always get competitive quotes (currently paying £189 on new Volvo through IAM RSA others quoted up to £450), It's become an annual ritual.
be interesting to see who does & does not reply + the quotes if you care to share.
Clive
