Where to buy? Ebay? dealer? somewhere else?

Plenty on ebay - usually just the gaitor which means you have to fit it. If you do this just take your time or it just looks a mess as it is a real stretch.
Prices vary enormously.
Ideally buy one with the gearstick top already fitted.

looks like it, not for long as I'm of to look at another car in the morning, 150 miles from home, my 944S is for sale in guards red with 76k on the clock, in today for a clutch and fuel pipes, that'll be £1100+ then :wink:

2 cheaper options here;

http://www.type911shop.co.uk/shop/categ ... =cid%3D%26

The colour is the problem with these, if its black youre OK, any other colour and you need to get OEM leather or it will look $hyte

:shock: Having the same debate myself at the moment Lindsey. With S types & 350zs even Lexus Is 200's for peanuts it's a buyers market. None are as much fun to drive as a 944 but they will be cheaper to run as daily drives. You really have to do the spannering yourself with these cars now or find somebody good that doesn't charge specialist prices. It's hard to justify spending £1500 a year on a car that may only be worth 2K. And thats if you can find a buyer. Sticking with mine as it has rear seats & the 350Z doesn't. S types a bit too pipe & slippers. The Lexus is the most sensible but swapping for a car with less HP & torque than you already have isn't really attractive. Once everythings been replaced the 944 must get cheaper to run! :wink: May get a shed for going to work in & keep the '44 for some track action & weekends. :bounce:

My 944S is purely a weekend toy and does about 2k miles a year, so the replacement will be the same, had the dilema of what to replace it with, Cayman S, 996 (with Aerokit of course !), 993, or maybe 964/930 turbo

Im pretty handy with the spanners, i think someone is making a very healthy profit at £1100.

How come you need a clutch at 76k miles?

What! Complete rubbish, the only people who feel this are those that haven't driven one! :evil: Or the sheep brigade that automatically buy the inferior german products such as BMW, Audi or Merc :mrgreen:
