Hi all,

Does anyone near London happen to have the Porsche Special Tool 9262/1 that I could hire/borrow for a day or 2 to save me spending £36 for one from Porsche?!

I'm currently in the process of stripping down and cleaning the oil cooler/OPRV and replacing the seals etc after some sort of pressure related issue which is causing the oil filter to blow its seal and spew oil everywhere (twice now) as per this thread... viewtopic.php?f=25&t=18294.

The OPRV (later 1 piece type) seems to be in good condition (no obvious marks or signs of scoring and the relief mechanism appears to run freely) and the cooler itself has been pressure tested by a radiator specialist and has no signs of leaking or blockages.

The oil cooler seals were buggered which may explain the brown sludge in the coolant but I'm still a little concerned that I haven't found an obvious cause of the high pressure/blockage?

I guess the only thing to do is put it all back together and see if it blows another filter?

I had the same problem - replaced the OPRV and it fixed it... The original OPRV had no signs of a problem, but I couldn't risk dumping 5l+ of oil again.

OPRV is very expensive though (btw I have the "good" one I bought available as I've put a new engine in my S2)

It was indeed the OPRV, despite appearing to be fine! Replacement now fitted and the oil pressure is back to normal with no leaks and the engine sounds much better on start up with the fresh oil.

Coolant change and expansion tank clean out scheduled for the weekend, then back to the starting issue and various other electrical gremlins! I'll start with the ground points for that one I think...

The OP said £36 from Porsche.

I didn't think you needed the tool with the later 1-piece valves as you can use it to align the housing?

Unfortunately I didn't have the tools or the skills required to make my own - but its certainly the best way if you do!

I got mine from the OPC in East London for £36...happy to lend it to anyone if you can pick it up or cover the postage.

Hire fee- £36 .

Haha...... a man with a sense of humour,,still it would have been cheaper than that I paid £37.12 from OPC
